Shopping Trip

Posted by: whitegirl    in charge it up

The trip to the capital was a success and non-success.  The Mister went to his meeting (looking very handsome, I might add, in a suit and tie) but the guy he was supposed to meet didn’t show up.  Typical desert behaviour.  The Mister returned and we went out shopping!

Look what I got!

It’s twice as wide as my old one, and oh so lovely! Ironing my bed sheets was so much quicker and hassle free! I had so much fun, in fact, that I ironed a couple of The Mister’s dress shirts as well. Don’t worry, I left a few for my maid. I didn’t want to keep all the ironing joy to myself! So generous, I know.

I also got a new covering to wear when I go out for tea:

The sleeve style is the new fashion, I’ve been told.  I just really like all the shiny.  Look!  Shiny!  Ooo!  Again, shiny!  More shiny!

One of my favourite places to go shopping is the grocery store.  A wider selection of products are available in the capital, and I love browsing the aisles to discover things that Oh My Gosh!  I just can’t live withoutI didn’t know I needed this 3 minutes ago, but from this moment on, I’ll DIE without it!  For instance – Cadbury’s makes soft chocolate called Chixo.  Now I realize how empty my life was before the convenience of soft chocolate in a squeeze tube!  How was it possible for me to ever have found purpose in my life before finding this product?  I bought 3 boxes.  I may have been pms’ing.

The biggest treat I found?  Fresh broccoli!  Until you’ve been starved of all broccoli exposure (save some pitiful attempts in the freezer section) for 2 years, you won’t understand why I was willing to sit with a bag of it on my lap for the 4 1/2 hour drive home.  I was also willing to part with $5 for the equivalent of one large head of broccoli.  Worth it!  The very next day, I turned that lovely broccoli into a creamy, delicious cream of broccoli soup.  I saved one small section for myself to eat fresh with home-made hummus.  Mmm…  so much better than a caramel macchiato.
