Chop, Chop, Mama!

Posted by: whitegirl   in Charlie and Lola

It was my turn to drive the kids to school this morning.  After picking up the first little guy, I was on my way to picking up the second (both ex-pat classmates of Lola’s).  Charlie turned to me and said, “Oh.  Mom.  Can you make a chocolate cake today?  We are having a party tomorrow at school and my teacher asked me what my mom is good at.  I told her you are pretty good at chocolate cake. So can you make a chocolate cake for my party tomorrow?  I want the round one with cherries on top.”

Sure, Charlie.  I’ll get right on that.

Other than getting henna done and possibly visiting some neighbours before we leave, you now know what I’ll be up to this afternoon.  Chocolate cake with chocolate icing and cherries on top.

Sometimes, I feel sorry for Charlie’s future wife.  She has no idea what she’s in for.

Ah, so other people’s kids do that too? And here I thought it was just mine. :)

haha, I love how he finds it so simple for you to wave your magic wand and produce a chocolate cake at the drop of a hat! You truly are magical to him :)

Wait, what? It’s not just “that” easy to make cake? But Michelle, you do it so effortlessly.

Hey, up-swing: Charlie is proud of his mama because her talent is delicious, and he’s smart enough to recognize that. Sounds like a pretty sweet compliment.
