We’ve been doing a lot of driving.  With driving comes music.  With music comes the logical choice of Gaga because what else makes the miles go by a little faster than some bad romance?  I didn’t really think about our music choices because I thought the little munchkins were absorbed in their movie (another way to make the miles go by faster.  Not once on the 5 hour stretches did we hear, “How much longer?”  The whining may have increased on the 10 hour stretches, and mainly originated from the front passenger seat.  Just sayin’)  So we were listening to the infamous Lady when I heard a sweet little voice pipe up from the backseat, “What is a disco stick?”  Tilting his head toward me, while still keeping his eyes on the road, The Mister said, “Yes, White Girl, why don’t you explain to our 5 year old what a disco stick is?”

It’s a…. um…. stick… that you take… to the disco!  … and it makes you… dance better!  And it’s shiny!  With sequins!

I thought it was all good until Lola won a sparkly wand at an arcade and went around pointing it at people while breathily saying, “Disco Stiiiiick”.

Bwahahaha!!! Great explanation there, White Girl!

I once had to threaten to confiscate a kid’s iPod at a pre-teen bowling night because she was listening to that song and then sharing the ear buds around to her friends so that they too could sing about the disco stick.

LOL! So freakin’ awesome! That’s funny that she won a wand and remembered your explanation from weeks earlier!
