The Big 5-0-0

Who knew it would ever get this far?

500 posts!!  We’ve been through a lot together.  From the tally of dead animals on the side (or middle) of the road, mainly dogs, to the agony of learning a new language, to the challenges of raising children in another culture, to the humour that is in friendships no matter the time/place/language/country.  I love life.  And I love sharing life with you.  Thank you for being a part of all this with me.

I asked for your assistance recently in compiling a list of favourites.  And, you came through!

The Great Happiness – the one about the Pee-Pee book

Neighbourhood Disco – a taste of my world when there is a wedding nearby.

Worm Pimples – from the information in my stats, it turns out I’m not the only one with this recurring bad dream.  I surmise that it’s just that I’m grossed out by puss.

Pearls of Wisdom – just one of the many possible examples of the differences between the XX’s and XY’s.

Rewriting History – sometimes it’s not what you say, but how you say  it.

Tea Charades – the story of the most disgusting tea ever and how The Mister dealt with it while I looked on in envy.

Under Pressure – my experiences with my new love, the pressure cooker.

Ode To My Gram – Grandmas are precious beings.  My grandma and I used to write letters regularly to one another through regular post.  This is my final letter to her; my goodbye.

Lola Cries for Sara – Lola’s heart became attached to the sacrificial lamb.

My all time favourite post was titled He’s My Only about the dream I had that The Mister took a 2nd wife.  Ironically, I had this dream before moving to the desert where polygamy is possible.  It’s my favourite because I can still feel those emotions with such acute rawness.  It’s like I just dreamed it last night.  Then there was the sequel where I beat out Wife #2 in her quest to make The Mister his most ever favourite cake in The Mister Got Married Again.

Thank you to all my faithful readers for being a part of these 5oo posts.  May the next 500 be as therapeutic – for me.   You, on the other hand, might be the one needing therapy.

  1. I’ve already been to therapy, and it was fantastic. If your blog sends me in for another round, then that’s probably as it should be.

Thank you for writing. It makes me feel like we are together having tea–and cake and you aren’t so far away.

Missing you regularly–but not so much when I can read and hear your voice!

It’s an honour and privilege to be allowed a glimpse into your sitcom. 😉 Here’s to another 500!

I second what fiona said. Raising my glass…cheers!

500! Wow! There should be some sort of trophy for that. I love your blog and hope to read hundreds and hundreds of more posts from you.
