I’m a pale, 30 something woman with 2 kids (known here as Charlie and Lola).  I moved to the desert with my family at the beginning of 2008 partly for my husband’s career and partly for crazy adventure. 

I write as a form of therapy.  When I began to bump up against the cultural differences that are much more extreme than anything I’ve ever dealt with before, I decided that the best way to deal was through writing.  Some of the differences are comical (or maybe only I see them that way since it is often the lens that I look through), some are aggrivating, and some are down-right heart wrenching.
