I’ve been feeling a lot better the last couple of days. The sugar/caffeine withdrawal’s worst has finally kicked it, so I’m again feeling energetic. This cleanse is definitely a lot better than that horrid lemon one, and I can see already so many benefits (most of which I won’t detail here because they are gross). Mainly, the best un-gross-benefit I’ve noticed is sleep. When I sleep, I sleep well and when I wake up, I feel refreshed. After a while the sugar just builds up so much that I feel weighted down, and not just by weight gain. I feel like my legs are heavy and just moving the minimum takes maximum effort. When I woke up in the morning, I felt like I could just dive back into bed headfirst, no matter how many hours of shut-eye. Now that I’ve gotten rid of that addiction (for now – until the next cleanse!), I feel lighter and more energetic.
Well, White Girl, if you’ve been feeling so great why haven’t you updated your blog?
I was lazy. Apparently there aren’t any cleanses powerful to rid me of that nasty character trait.
But I’m here now! And I want to share with you the steal of a deal that I got while shopping in the capital last week! There is a store that brings in overstock name brand items from Europe and sells it at a discounted price. I love going there to look at their shoes. I think I may have blogged about another pair of shoes that I found there one time. Let me check.
(insert elevator music) Ah, yes. I found it here My beloved hooker shoes.
Anyway, this shop has many things from housewares, to bed linens, to children’s clothes and jewellery. I always take a few moments to take a look through the other items, but it doesn’t take me long to make my way to the lower level to check out the delicious selection of shoes. They always have nice brand names, which in a country of typically-low quality junk from a large Asian country, is a rare find and a nice treat. I’ve seen Jessica Simpson shoes, and Chinese Laundry, and even Stuart Weitzman. My hooker shoes are Guess! (please note the appropriate use of the !) High quality shoes at a not break-the-bank-price.
Last week, I found these:
They are Coach brand, wooden heels! So cute, I thought! And then I saw the price tag – $35. They are mine, I thought!
I threw into my shopping satchel and marched upstairs with the other items I had committed to purchasing, which included a pair of pj’s for Lola that comes with a matching pair for her baby doll! She is going to be so excited when she opens it for Christmas! I also found her a new rain coat that we’ll give her for her birthday in March. I do regret not buying her the housecoat that she loves so dearly. I might have to go back there and get it to keep in the closet until the spring as well.
Anyway, I wanted to know what a steal of a deal I got, so the other day, I went online to look for these shoes. I found them listed for $109.99! I saved myself a whopping $75! And I’m going to look deadly cute wearing them under my covering. Oh, you know it, girl!
