Emotional Frogs

   Posted by: whitegirl

Moving can be emotional. There is nothing better than eating to help with emotions; it’s what I’m teaching Lola. And there is nothing better than jelly frogs to meet emotional needs.

These little fellas are not only friendly looking but entirely tasty. When I pop one into my mouth and begin chewing, the bottom marshmallow layer breaks down first. I like to chew, chew, chew in one direction, flip it around in my mouth and chew, chew, chew along the other direction to make a grid along the marshmallow. I like to think of it as a math lesson. I’m learning while I’m junk fooding. After the marshmallow layer has dissolved away, I am left with the highly flavorful green jelly layer that is so good, I just want to swallow it! But I don’t – I let it linger, savoring the sweet, potent flavor of green jelly. A frog can last about 2 minutes, if I focus. Two minutes of the most satisfying emotional snacking experience a girl could ask for. And a lot of girls don’t even get 2 minutes, so there’s that. I’m just saying.

The marshmallow, unfortunately, doesn’t just dissolve into thin air. There are repercussions.  It’s been dubbed muffin top, even moved on to the cake top.  We have now entered the age of the ….  Marshmallow Top.  (draw it out when you say it, and use a deep voice.  So much more emotive.)

Let’s be brutally honest…  The age is also Marshmallow Bottom.

Noticing that I was getting a little… let’s say.. bulbous in the rear regions, I asked The Mister what he thought and gave me a grimace.

Not a

but more like a

"She just asked me if her butt looks big!"

I’d say that’s an affirmative.
